Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the this year's Young Athlete of the Year award.

The trio have been recognised for their exceptional achievements over the past 12 months.

Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a record-breaking innings.

Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his breakthrough year.

The three contenders were announced live on a widely-listened-to radio show.

This year's winner will be announced during a live broadcast on the annual sports awards show on December 18th.

The event will be broadcast from 19:00 GMT.

Agyemang's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Only 90 days after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to winning the Euros.

She came off the bench to score crucial late equalisers in both the knockout stage games.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.

Subsequently, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the best young player in Europe.

She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.

"To be named a finalist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler's 2025 began in sensational style as - at just 17 years old - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.

His success continued - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the maiden occasion.

At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, smashing the previous record.

"Earning a spot on the shortlist for this award again is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a special memory for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

The Cricket Sensation

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and burst into the spotlight with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.

Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.

It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin came in second place in the batting rankings and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.

"I'm deeply humbled to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it motivates more young females to get into cricket."
