The European clash and historical connections. The both teams have a unique relationship, also meeting in Forest's last European campaign in the UEFA Cup of 1995-96, but it is the premier competition final 46 years ago that connects these teams, with Britain's first £1m player Francis scoring the winner of a largely forgettable match to secure historic victory for the the English club.

This represented an extraordinary accomplishment that it is hard to see being repeated – from second tier to European stage in just three years."
One should note to consider Malmö, who became the first, and to date the last Nordic team to reach the final under English manager Bob Houghton.
This match is a very different to that summit, closer perhaps to the earlier European encounter between Forest and Malmö in 1995-96. Forest are riding high after thrashing Liverpool at the famous ground on Saturday, while Malmö have been inactive since last month following the completion of Allsvenskan. The general expectation is on the home team tonight.
